In a dramatic political twist, Senator Ademola Adeleke has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Osun State, barely 24 hours after officially joining the party.

The development followed an emergency meeting of the party’s State Executive Committee, where Adeleke was unanimously endorsed as the flagbearer ahead of the upcoming governorship election. Party officials described his emergence as a “strategic move aimed at repositioning the party for victory.”

Sources within the Accord Party revealed that Adeleke’s entry triggered widespread excitement among supporters, many of whom believe his popularity and grassroots influence could significantly boost the party’s chances.

Adeleke, who previously contested under a different political platform, assured party members of his commitment to inclusive governance, improved welfare, and a renewed development agenda for Osun State.

The Accord Party is expected to submit his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within the stipulated deadline.
