The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has launched an active outreach and support operation to locate and provide immediate assistance to a young woman who alleged she was sexually assaulted, following a distressing viral video that has generated widespread public concern and outrage across social media platforms.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the DSVA confirmed that the agency became aware of the video circulating online and immediately activated its response protocol. The agency is working closely with security agencies, community leaders and social media influencers to trace the young woman’s whereabouts and ensure her safety.

The video shows a young lady narrating her alleged experience of sexual assault and expressing fear for her life. DSVA has set up a dedicated response team comprising counsellors, legal officers and social workers. A confidential hotline (08000-333-333) and WhatsApp line (0813-555-5555) have been activated 24/7 for anyone with information on her location or identity. The agency has appealed to the public, especially those who know the lady or have contact with her, to reach out discreetly so she can receive medical, psychological and legal support without fear of stigmatisation. DSVA has also urged anyone in possession of the video to refrain from further sharing to protect the survivor’s privacy and dignity.

Executive Secretary of DSVA, Titilayo Vivour-Adeniyi, said: “We have seen the video and we are deeply concerned. Our priority is the safety and well-being of this young woman. We are not waiting for her to come to us we are going all out to find her and offer the full range of support services available under the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Law. No survivor should feel alone or unprotected in Lagos State.”

This is a developing and sensitive case. Names and specific details are being withheld to protect the survivor’s identity and ongoing efforts.
