The Oferekpe Agbaja community, comprising 17 villages, was officially established earlier this year following a legislative enactment by the Ebonyi State House of Assembly. It was carved out of the larger Agbaja community.
At 84 years old, Ezeogo Nwifuru Nwamkpu is a prominent farmer with a remarkable personal history. He once had 30 wives, though only 17 remain with him due to some leaving over childbearing issues. Though, some people pinpoint nepotism as bases of the governor crowning his own biological father, others remarked that the honour is well-deserved Chief Nwifuru because his charitable antecedents are worthy of recognition and emulation.
