Delta Police Command says it has arrested over 100 suspects allegedly in a gay wedding ceremony in a secret location in the State.
A police statement said the suspects were arrested in the middle of a gay wedding ceremony in session at a popular hotel in Delta State.
The Command announced the arrests in a post via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, and said it would parade the suspects shortly.
“Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects.”
The bill against gay relationships and same-sex marriage was approved in 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, expressing that anyone found guilty of this law can face a prison sentence of up to 14 years.
