Tinubu Announces Cabinet Portfolios, To Swear in The New Ministers On Monday

As part of efforts to solidify governance processes, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced members of his cabinet.

The minister designates who have been assigned portfolios will be sworn-in next Monday, according to information released from the office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr. George Akume.

Those to be sworn in on Monday include:

  1. Nyesom Wike – FCT Minister who was the former governor of River State
  2. Festus Keyamo – Minister of Aviation who was the former minister for state for labor and employment
  3. Adebayo Adelabu- Minister Of Power who was the former Deputy Governor, operations of Central Bank of Nigeria
  4. Adegboyega Oyetola – Minister of Transportation who served as the governor of Osun State from 2018 to 2022.
  5. Dele Alake – Minister of Solid Minerals a former Lagos Commissioner of Information and Strategy
  6. Muhammed Idris – Minister of Information who is an accomplished media entrepreneur, Publisher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Blueprint newspaper
  7. Mohammed Badaru – Minister of Defence was the immediate past governor of Jigawa State from 2015 to 2023.
  8. Bello Mattawale – Minister of State, Defence. He previously served as the governor of Zamfara State from 2019 to 2023.
  9. Wale Edun – Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy who is financial expert with extensive experience in the banking sector.
  10. Dave Umahi – He previously served as the governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023, and as deputy governor from 2011 to 2015.
  11. Ali Pate – Coordinating Minister of Health and social Welfare who was the former CEO of Gavi Alliance.
  12. Abubakar Kyari – Minister of Agriculture and Food Security was the senator representing Borno North Senatorial District of Borno State at the 9th National Assembly from 2015 until his resignation in April 2022.
  13. Abubakar Mohmoh – Minister of Youths who was the senator representing Borno North Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly.
  14. Bosun Tijani- Minister of Communications and Digital Economy who is the CEO, and co-founder of CcHub
  15. Yusuf Tuga – Minister of Foreign Affairs. he is a Nigerian politician and diplomat who since 2017 is the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany.
  16. Atiku Bagudu – Minister of Budget and Economic planning. He served as governor of Kebbi State, Nigeria between May 2015 and May 2023.
  17. Joseph Utsve – Minister of Water resources and sanitation
  18. Shaibu Audu – Minister of Steel Development. He is an Executive Director at the Stanbic IBTC Bank
  19. Sabi Abdullahi – Minister of State, Agriculture. He was the senator representing Niger North and served as deputy chief whip in the 9th Senate.
  20. Doris Anieete – Minister of Trade and Investment. She was a former Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy in Imo State.
  21. Ms Uzoka-Anite was also a former General Manager of Zenith Bank Plc.
  22. Betta Edu – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty. She was Cross River State Commissioner for Health until her resignation in 2022. She was also the National Chairman of the Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum.
  23. John Eno – Minister of Sport. He was the senator for the Central District of Cross River State between 2015 and 2019.
  24. Bunmi Tunji Ojo – Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. Mr Ojo was one of the first set of certified ethical hackers from Royal Britannia IT Training Academy in the United Kingdom
  25. Simon Lalong – Minister of labor and employment. is a Nigerian lawyer and politician, who served as governor of Plateau State from 2015 to 2023.
  26. Lola Adejo – Minister of Tourism. Lola Ade John worked as a Technology integration Manager at Ecobank Nigeria for seven years before she joined Novateur Business Technology Consultants as a Principal Consultant.
