LATEST (Video): Afro-beat Crooner, Seun Kuti Assaults Police Officer, IGP Orders His Arrest and Full Investigation

Miffed by the audacious assault of a police officer in uniform by Afro-beat Crooner, Seun Kuti, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, CFR has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest him.

The Afro-beat singer was seen in a video that has gone viral assaulting, who was captured on a police officer in uniform.

Confirming this order by IGP, the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a press statement on Saturday disclosed that the IGP has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and consequent prosecution of the suspect.

He said the IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such ridiculous affront to law officers will face the full wrath of the law.

Seun Kuti had in a viral video assaulted a stop-and-search police officer.

The issue of stop-and-search has been a controversial sore point in policing in Nigeria, and several cautionary pronouncements have been made by police authorities but never has been adhered to scrupulously.
