Popular Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson warns fans and the general public to be wary of fraudsters using his name and image to engage in illegal acts .
The actor made the disclosure in a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that an individual reportedly based in the United Kingdom has been posing as him in online conversations and transactions.
Johnson shared a screenshot of a chat with the suspected impersonator, making it clear that he has nothing to do with such activity .

He emphasised that the phone number being used by the impersonator does not belong to him and urged the public to treat any communication from the individual as fake.
“I do not know this person and do not represent whatever he or she stands for,” Johnson stated.
The actor also clarified that he does not currently operate through a personal manager or assistant for business dealings, and therefore any claims suggesting otherwise should be disregarded.
He warned that any messages, offers, or business proposals made in his name through such channels should be completely ignored.
Johnson further urged his fans and the public to report the number being used by the impersonator, noting that such scams could damage his reputation and mislead unsuspecting individuals.
The warning comes amid a rising trend of online impersonation targeting public figures, especially celebrities in the entertainment industry
