President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to receive the Osun State Council of Obas, led by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Permanent Chairman of the Council, on Wednesday, August 2026.
The anticipated meeting is being described as an important opportunity for the traditional rulers to speak directly to the President about the pressing developmental needs of Osun State.

Reconstruction of Federal Roads in Osun State Many federal roads across the state have deteriorated significantly, making transportation difficult, increasing travel time, damaging vehicles, and creating hardship for residents. Traditional rulers are being urged to appeal to the President to direct the relevant federal agencies to urgently rehabilitate and reconstruct these roads.
Development of Osun State’s Tourist Attractions Osun is blessed with remarkable cultural, historical, spiritual, and natural tourist attractions, including the sacred grove and the ancient heritage of Ile-Ife. Many of these sites have not received adequate federal investment, preservation, and modern infrastructure. Stakeholders want the Royal Fathers to urge the President to direct the Federal Ministry responsible for Tourism and relevant agencies to develop, upgrade, preserve, and properly market these destinations. Tourism, they note, can create jobs, attract investment, empower local communities, and generate revenue for the state and the country.

Bring Transformative Federal Projects to Osun State Stakeholders are also calling for a fair share of major federal projects and investments for Osun State, stressing that the state deserves transformative projects that will leave a lasting legacy.
In addition, there is a call for the President to work with the state government to tackle insecurity in Osun State.
Observers note that the meeting should go beyond ceremonial greetings and serve as an opportunity to present a clear and united development agenda for Osun State covering roads, tourism, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and the economy.
