The POS Agent Aggregators Innovation Association of Nigeria (PAAIAN) will on Friday, September 25, 2026, hold the pre-launch of its “Fintech Without Border” initiative in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event will take place at 16B, Akintan Street, Dideolu Estate, Ogba, with the initiative centred on financial inclusion, technology and opportunities within Nigeria’s fintech and agent-banking space.
PAAIAN says it was established on July 2, 2024, to support POS agents and aggregators across Nigeria. The association describes itself as an industry body representing POS agent aggregators across the country’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Its stated areas of focus include financial inclusion, innovation, education and economic empowerment, with the aim of supporting growth within the POS agent aggregator industry.
Technology is also a major part of the association’s work. PAAIAN says it provides technical support to help its members adopt and make better use of emerging technologies. This includes guidance on newer POS hardware and software, smart and biometric-enabled devices, as well as AI-powered tools such as chatbots, predictive analytics and fraud detection.
The initiative comes as Nigeria’s agent-banking sector continues to develop alongside changes in technology and regulation. In October 2025, the Central Bank of Nigeria issued revised guidelines for agent banking, covering areas including agent operations, monitoring, terminal management and the delivery of financial services to underserved communities.

The wider POS industry has also been exploring newer technologies. At the 2025 POS Innovation Summit in Lagos, discussions included biometrics, artificial intelligence, SoftPOS and other developments in digital payments. PAAIAN Chairman Oba-Israel Afolabi Olorunshina was listed among the speakers at the event.
For PAAIAN, the “Fintech Without Border” initiative is built around what the association describes as inclusive fintech, empowering agents, expanding opportunities and working towards a more accessible financial future.
The September 25 pre-launch is expected to bring together stakeholders around the association’s vision for the POS agent aggregator industry and its role in Nigeria’s changing financial technology landscape.
