Reality TV star Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, and Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday are set to face each other in a celebrity boxing bout scheduled for October 1, 2026, in Lagos.
The fight, tagged “Phyna vs Nkechi,” will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, as part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series. Organisers have announced that the event will be broadcast on DAZN and SuperSport.

The proposed bout follows a recent exchange between the two entertainers on social media. The disagreement began after Nkechi Blessing commented on Phyna’s involvement in online disputes and advised her to be more careful in her interactions.
Phyna subsequently responded, questioning why the actress had publicly addressed her. She also explained that the two had previously communicated over a movie project but that their discussions ended following a disagreement over the timing of her response.
Their online exchange was followed by the announcement of the boxing encounter, effectively moving the disagreement from social media to a physical sporting-style event.

The October 1 contest is part of Balmoral’s growing celebrity boxing series, which has previously featured entertainers including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.
The organisers are yet to release details of the undercard and ticketing arrangements.
For Phyna, the event adds another chapter to her public profile following her emergence as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7. Nkechi Blessing, meanwhile, remains active in Nollywood, with the actress also known for her presence on social media.
