In the originating suit, Yekini Goloba claims that the Alagbeji Ruling House, to which he belongs, is the rightful family to produce the Osolo, following a rotational order among the three ruling houses Alagbeji, Okota, and Adeola, which had been the implied norm.

‎According to Yekini Goloba, the selection process for the Osolo stool was not conducted according to tradition and due consultation with the Ifa oracle, as he was by passed despite being selected by the Kingmakers with majority support. He alleges that Shekoni Faronbi’s installation was carried out in defiance of an existing suit and without due process.

‎He is therefore, seeking a court order to nullify the nomination, approval and installation of Shekoni Faronbi as the Osolo of Isolo. Consequently, the Prince wants the court to compel the Lagos State Government to recognize and install him as the rightful Osolo of Isolo.

Additionally, Prince Yekini Goloba is seeking an order for the withdrawal of all instruments of office, including the staff of office, from Shekoni Faronbi, and N50 million in costs for prosecuting the case.

‎The Court’s decision will hopefully, determine the rightful individual to occupy the Osolo throne and, unarguably, may set a precedent for traditional leadership disputes in Lagos State.
