The Nigerian comedy industry has been thrown into mourning following the shocking news of the sudden death of popular skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, better known as Mr. Sanku, following fatal injuries he sustained from a ghastly accident that occurred along the Oyo Ogbomoso road in Ibadan in the early hours of Monday September 1, 2025.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle that the fast-rising entertainer was traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. They were rushed to the hospital with another of his co-traveling friend but both were pronounced dead, succumbing to their injuries a few hours later.

Sanku began creating content for social media in 2021, at a time when skit-making was burgeoning and beginning to gain significant traction in Nigeria.
