Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has mutually agreed to part ways with South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Chippa United, the club officially confirmed on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Nwabali, 29, joined Chippa United from Katsina United in January 2022 and spent four seasons with the Chilli Boys, establishing himself as one of the most consistent and highly-rated goalkeepers in the PSL.
In a brief statement posted on their official social media channels, Chippa United said:
“Chippa United Football Club would like to thank Stanley Nwabali for his immense contribution over the past four years. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Nwabali has been linked with several bigger clubs in South Africa (including Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs) as well as potential moves to Europe or the Middle East, where interest in African goalkeepers has grown significantly.
The goalkeeper has not yet announced his next destination, but sources close to the player indicate that negotiations are advanced with multiple clubs, with an announcement expected soon.
