During a G20 social event ahead of the Rio de Janeiro summit on Saturday, Brazil’s First Lady, Janja Lula da Silva, made a provocative comment aimed at X’s (formerly Twitter) owner, Elon Musk, referring to his influence on social media regulation.

The main summit of the G20 group of largest nations is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

While reigning curses on Musk, a passing ship’s horn interrupted her speech, to which she joked it might be Musk, then bluntly added, “I’m not afraid of you, f*** you, Elon Musk.

Musk reacted with humor on X (formerly Twitter) and suggested Lula’s allies might face political setbacks. Musk posted a laughing out loud emoji graphic and followed with another post where he added, “They are going to lose the next election,” in a reference to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Musk’s social messaging network was suspended in Brazil for a month this year for failing to name a legal representative in the country and ignoring court orders to block accounts accused of spreading “fake news” and hate messages.
