Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has once again etched his name in the record books as the first African artist to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all his credits.
The milestone was announced on Tuesday by music data platform #ChaftsAfrica on X (formerly Twitter), which highlighted Wizkid’s dominance with the post: “First African artists to reach major Spotify milestones: 1 billion — Wizkid, 2 billion — Wizkid, 10 billion — Wizkid, 11 billion — Wizkid.”

This latest achievement comes shortly after the release of his collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind on May 15, 2026. The single recorded over 685,000 global streams on Spotify within its first full day of release.
