…says Their Approval Rating Will Ensure Victory at the Poll

The Managing Director of Benin- Owena River Basin Department Authority (BORDA), Engineer Saliu Ahmed recently boosted the popularity and favourability of all candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Edo North senatorial district, by throwing his weight behind them, saying that the positive and verifiable accomplishments of the federal agency he heads are a positive testimonial to draw from and ensure an all-round victory in the presidential and national assembly poll on Saturday.
In a press statement on Wednesday, February 22 in Benin City, the Edo State Capital; Engr. Ahmed urged the party faithful and candidates to amplify the robust benefits that a federal intervention agency such as BORDA has delivered to the people, which opened improved access to many opportunities for the communities, which unarguably is a positive scorecard that would expand their marketability to the electorates as preferred candidates in State Assembly election slated for March 11.
Giving a brief on the progress report of the agency, the highly numerate BORDA Boss said the achievements of the agency is a panoply of projects impact spread across the six local government areas of the Edo North senatorial district, in particular, and other districts in the State, generally.
Specifically, Ahmed said that some of the agency’s achievements to includes three integrated farms in Auchi, Okpe, and Uneme Nekhua, which were modelled after the Songhai Integrated Farms in Port Novo, Benin Republic.
“In Owan axis, there are litanies of projects bearing the BORDA badge. From the block of classrooms to the water project and the dam, these projects bear true testimony to the agency’s spirit of changing the landscape and impacting lives positively.
“No part of the Edo North district is marginalized as far as the distribution of the BORDA projects is concerned.
“Using the bar of a shared vision in discharging its mandate to the people, the agency’s management has tried to put in place a merit system that treats all the communities as equal. In that way, projects are distributed evenly.
Importantly, by the benchmark of politics and impact to open up more communities, Engr. Ahmed is confident that the electorates are discerning enough to see the many verifiable testimonies of what an interventionist agency such as BORDA has done under an APC-led federal government and thus, vote all APC candidates across the board, to ensure continuity and improved infrastructural linkages for the people.
However, he explained that the mission of the agency has no political underpinning but that the success story of BORDA is evidence of the kind of leadership that can be provided with a long range strategic vision to use as a guide in any political causeway that impacts the prosperity and wellbeing of people.
“At the time they were being built, these projects were not in any way factor in the elections but, today, the APC candidates are enthusiastically signposting them as products of APC leadership and thereby, garner the accompanying goodwill that’s a precursor to positive ranking, which by extension can translate to votes”, said Ahmed.
