With over 2,500 training programs already under its belt since 2019, the Academy has clearly become a powerhouse for nurturing what they call Moment Makers.

Radisson Academy is a dedicated Learning and Development hub, an initiative sponsored by the Radisson Hotel Group. The hospitality group has continued to innovate solidifying their frontline spot as the best ‘Academy’ to upskill talent in the industry, since its inception in 2019, Radisson Academy has expanded its offer to more than 2,500 training programs and has become a cornerstone of both employee development and enabling strategic business success.

Speaking about the positive impact of the academy, Harpreet Singh Chhatwal, Vice President, People and Culture MEA, SA and SEAP, Radisson Hotel Group, said, “At Radisson Hotel Group, our people are our biggest assets. The introduction of Radisson Academy Live in Lagos is a testament to our deep-rooted commitment to developing and empowering African talent. We are dedicated to growing a diverse team in Nigeria and beyond, where every individual brings a great attitude and an insatiable hunger to learn. By continuously nurturing our Moment Makers, we strengthen our talent pipeline and cultivate a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing culture across the region.”

The public notification highlights that Lagos was chosen for the first live edition in Africa, making it a historically perfect sense given its status as a commercial and cultural hub, with a booming hospitality industry.

Harpreet Singh Chhatwal’s statement emphasizes that Lagos is people-first philosophy, blending a hunger for learning with strategic business goals.

The program is designed to be multi-platform leveraging Online, Live, On the Job, Virtual and Certifications, in order to ensure that the Academy meets learners wherever they are — whether on the floor of a busy hotel or attending virtually from another part of the world.

The vision of the programme is designed to be a global, already spanning 95+ countries and this rightly positions it as part of a broader transformation strategy, not just a local initiative. Radisson Hotel Group has implemented a significant investment in its diverse team of Moment Makers across the participating countries.

Sandra Kneubuhler, Managing Director, Africa, Radisson Hotel Group emphasized that,
“”At Radisson Hotel Group, we believe that ‘We grow talent, and talent grows us.’ This principle is the foundation of our culture, driving our commitment to developing our Moment Makers. Our team members in Nigeria are notably dynamic and dedicated, contributing to a robust performance culture. We recognize their potential and are committed to motivating our talent and investing in their personal growth, equipping them to become even more effective leaders.”.

Since 2019, when Radisson Hotel Group laid the groundwork for Radisson Academy with a refreshed focus on its learning development modules, the Group has worked closely with business leaders and provided new dedicated trainings, ranging from leadership and people management skills to hotel operational skills, as well as functional capacity building in areas such as M&E, Sales, Revenue Management, Financial Accounting and more.
