Community development expert and political actor in Rivers State, Blessing Fubara Snr., has officially resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress [APC] and joined the National Democratic Coalition [NDC] ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fubara announced his defection on Wednesday, stating that his decision was driven by the need to align with a platform that prioritizes grassroots development and inclusive governance. He said the move reflects his commitment to advancing the interests of Rivers communities at the national level.

“I have left the APC to join the NDC because I believe it offers a clearer path for community-driven politics and the kind of representation our people deserve in 2027,” Fubara said in a statement.
A known figure in Rivers’ civil society and political circles, Fubara has been active in advocacy and development initiatives across the state. His exit from the APC adds to the shifting political landscape in Rivers as parties begin early realignments and consultations for the next election cycle.
