A Lagos-based lawyer and concerned indigene of Ogun State, Olowolabi K. Oluwasegun, Esq., has issued a strategic political advisory to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Hon. Ladi Adebutu, urging him to urgently engage key All Progressives Congress (APC) power brokers to build a winning coalition for the 2027 election.
In an official press statement and political advisory released on Friday, Oluwasegun, Principal Partner of O.O.K. Owolabi & Partners, analysed what he described as internal fractures within the ruling APC in Ogun State and outlined steps Adebutu should take to capitalise on the situation.

He said the ongoing divisions within the Ogun APC were creating significant shifts across the electoral landscape.
According to the advisory, actions by the current leadership to marginalise sitting leaders — specifically Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel — have created major political gaps and fractured the party structure across Ijebu and Remo lands in Ogun East.
Oluwasegun also cited political pressure directed toward traditional stools in Ijebu-Ode (the Awujale) and Remo land, which he said had eroded institutional harmony.
In Ogun Central (Abeokuta axis), he alleged that the sidelining of former Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun through the imposition of political loyalists, such as Hon. Salisu, for the Ogun Central Senatorial ticket had alienated key stakeholders.

He further criticised the practice of reserving key positions for immediate family members, citing the securing of a third consecutive term for Hon. Olumide Osoba in the House of Representatives as an example of moves that had disenfranchised qualified party loyalists.
Despite public outreach, he said opposing figures such as Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) face narrowed governorship prospects because of leadership friction and political resistance within the state.

Avoid political complacency and not rely solely on internal APC divisions or assume that opposition friction guarantees electoral success.
Initiate urgent, high-level diplomatic outreach and political reconciliation with primary political heavyweights of Ogun State — most notably Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Secure the endorsement and alignment of these key leaders to unify strategic regions across Ogun State, stressing that public goodwill alone is insufficient without backing from key kingmakers.
“The current political landscape in Ogun State demands proactive leadership and political bridge-building. By taking swift, decisive steps to build consensus with these foundational political stalwarts, Hon. Ladi Adebutu can build a winning coalition across the state,” the statement concluded.
