Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday commissioned the Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo, describing it as a testament to the success of his administration’s local content policy.
The governor stated that the policy has enabled local contractors and engineers to deliver world-class infrastructure projects across the state while empowering indigenous suppliers and businesses.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Adeleke noted that the flyover is part of several mega projects initiated by his administration that are now ready for public use.
“This project is not isolated. Today marks the commencement of the unveiling for public use of several mega projects initiated by our government. This is part of our administration’s promise to rebuild Osun through infrastructure that touches everybody’s life – roads, bridges, health, education and water,” he said.
The governor emphasised that all projects were executed with due process, transparency, and without mortgaging the future of the state’s children.
“The high quality of this flyover confirms the workability of our local content model. We have proven to the whole world that our local engineers can perform to world class standards,” Adeleke added.

He highlighted key achievements of his administration, including the completion of over 27km of intracity roads in Osogbo and more than 300 kilometres of roads across the state. He also mentioned that over 10 mega projects have been completed and are ready for commissioning.
The governor charged members of the public and the Ministry of Works to properly maintain the bridge, warning against street trading and vandalism of railings and street lights.

The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Larooye, commended Governor Adeleke for his significant contributions to the development of Osogboland.
In a passionate address in Yoruba, the monarch promised that the people of Osogbo would reciprocate the governor’s efforts during the next gubernatorial election.
“If I am a politician, I will mobilise Osogbo to vote en masse for you. You have done so well for us. We cannot thank you enough,” the royal father said.

The colourful event, which was televised live on TVC and Arise TV, was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, and members of the public.
The commissioning of the Lameco Flyover Bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the Osogbo metropolis.
