Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has taken a swipe at two prominent APC figures former Jigawa Governor Badaru Abubakar and former Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje accusing them of being in panic mode after strongly backing President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 presidential bid.
In a viral video interview shared by SYMFONI TV on Thursday, February 13, 2026, Amaechi claimed the two former governors are now “crying” and fearful of possible arrest or political consequences following developments in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Amaechi specifically said: “All of them supported Tinubu, today they are crying. Badaru no longer answers my call, I am looking for him because I want to laugh at him, I’m laughing at Ganduje too because at that time they were carrying him (Tinubu) on their head, now they are afraid of getting arrested.”
He did not provide specific details on what exactly Badaru and Ganduje are allegedly afraid of but suggested their earlier enthusiasm for Tinubu has turned into regret amid shifting political dynamics and ongoing anti-corruption probes targeting some APC leaders.

Amaechi, once a major force in the APC and a key mobiliser in the South-South during the 2023 campaign, has become increasingly critical of the Tinubu administration and party leadership in recent months.
The remarks further expose the growing cracks within the APC coalition that helped Tinubu win in 2023, as several former allies now appear distant or openly critical.
