Arsenal academy product Max Dowman has been named the Premier League Home Grown Debutant of the Season, capping a remarkable breakthrough campaign that has seen the 17-year-old establish himself in Mikel Arteta’s first team.
Dowman made his Premier League debut in August 2025 and went on to feature in 19 league matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists. In December, he etched his name into the history books as the youngest player in Premier League history to score and assist in the same match, achieving the feat at just 17 years and 112 days old.

The award recognises the best-performing player who graduated from an English academy and made their Premier League debut during the 2025/26 season. Dowman beat stiff competition from Chelsea’s Josh Acheampong and Liverpool’s Trey Nyoni to claim the prestigious honour.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Hale End graduate expressed his gratitude:
“This means everything to me and my family. Coming through Hale End has been my dream since I was six. To play for Arsenal and be recognized like this is special. I just want to keep working and help the team.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also showered praise on the youngster’s maturity and impact:
“Max has a rare mentality. He trains like a senior pro, plays with freedom, and handles pressure. He’s earned every minute and this award.”
Dowman’s breakthrough represents another success story for Arsenal’s renowned Hale End academy, which continues to produce high-quality first-team talents. His impressive performances have also earned him a place in contention for the England U-19 squad ahead of next year’s European Championship qualifiers.
