The Akwa ibom State Governor Umo Eno, has dissolved his cabinet to introduce a fresh team of professionals for the next phase of his administration. The announcement was made during a valedictory session held at the Executive Chamber in Uyo on Friday.

The governor emphasized that the decision was not a reflection of dissatisfaction with the commissioners’ performance, as they had all served diligently. Instead, it was a strategic move to realign the administration’s focus and bring in new ideas for governance.
A dinner honoring the outgoing commissioners is scheduled to take place at the Government House later in the evening, marking the end of their tenure.
Many of the commissioners had served for nearly a decade, having started their roles during the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Incumbent Governor Eno hgiglighted that their earlier retention in his government was a gesture to acknowledge their commitment and compensate for the lack of recognition they received when the previous administration ended in May 2023.
Unarguably, Akwa Ibom State, home to current Nigeria’s Senate President Godwill Akpabio, boasts a rich manpower base of qualified professionals. Hence, this development sets the stage for the governor to assemble a new team to drive his vision for the state’s development in the coming years.
