The remains of late Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredol, SAN, CON who died in a German hospital on December 27, 2023, has arrived Nigeria today, Friday January 5, 2024.
The plane conveying the body arrived at about 3:39 p.m. Nigerian time on Friday.
The body was received by his wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, his children, and family members led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother.
Akeredolu passed away in Germany a few days after battling with cancer of the prostrate.
The arrival of his remains is a significant moment, and it marks the beginning of the mourning process. The family will likely announce the final burial details at a later date.
While it’s always a sad moment when a public figure and leader passes away, this time also, represents an opportunity for sober reflection on the late governor’s contributions to the state and the impact he had on the lives of those he served.
