BREAKING: PDP Benue Categorically Refutes Allegation of Suspension of Ayu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Igyorov Council Ward of Gboko LGA of Benue State, has strongly refuted and condemned the purported sanction and suspension of the National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, saying it is the evil work of desperate politicians.

In a public disclaimer notice released on Monday, signed by Ward Deputy Chairman, Ortese Helen and 15 other members of the Ward Executive Committee, dissociated themselves from the purported vote of no confidence and consequent suspension of Ayu.

“We the undersigned PDP Ward Executive Committee members of Igyorov Council Ward have categorically disclaimed and dissociate ourselves from the purported letter of vote of No confidence and suspension of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu as a member of PDP of Igyorov Council Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State dated on the 24th day of March 2023 Circulating on the Channel Station, Arise News, other Media Stations/Channels, Newspapers, and Social media Generally.

The executive committee has never discussed in any of our meetings prior to the election or post-2023 General Election the conduct of the National Chairman. Chapter 10 section 57 of the party’s Constitution, 2017 as amended.

The Executive Committee Members have stated clearly that they have no knowledge about the letter and have not authorized anybody whatsoever to generate such a mischievous letter on behalf of the Executive Committee.

The purported signatures on the letter are forged and no member of the PDP Executive Committee of Igyorov Council Ward has signed that letter or caused it to be signed on his or her behalf. The names of the Executive Committee Members are wrongly written and spelled which shows the desperation of the mischief makers. The content of the purported letter itself is contradictory to the holding of the presidential and National Assembly Elections on the 25th of March 2023 while the letter itself is dated the 24th of March 2023. The letter was written before the purported Commission of the offense which shows clearly that it is the handwork of mischief makers.

Igyorov PDP Ward Executive hereby passes a vote of full confidence on Senator Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and we also pledge our full support for his pragmatic leadership style (as the National Chairman of the Party) by taking our party to higher heights”

The statement further advised the general public to disregard the content as it is not a product of the PDP Igyorov Council Ward, where the national chairman hails from.
