President Bola Tinubu’s long-awaited cabinet reshuffle finally happened on Wednesday, with the dismissal of some Ministers and nomination of new ones, highlighting a significant restructuring decision aimed at enhancing government efficiency.
Six ministers, including Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (Housing and Urban Development), Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development), and Dr. Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs), were dismissed

According to the Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who announced the changes, he said the reshuffle also includes the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios and the nomination of seven new ministers pending Senate confirmation.
The seven new ministers nominated are pending Senate approval. Notable names among the new nominations included Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, wife of late Biafran warlord, Chief odimegwu Ojukwu and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction

Other key appointments included Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State, Education.
President Tinubu urged the appointees to view their roles as a call to national service, emphasizing the administration’s goal of driving Nigeria towards irreversible growth and addressing critical national challenges.
He expressed gratitude to the outgoing ministers and wished them well in their future endeavors.
