This was confirmed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor.

The governor’s decision continues his tradition of supporting workers, following last year’s ₦100,000 bonuses offered to civil servants alongside his counterparts in Lagos and Rivers states to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. Local government employees, who received ₦50,000 bonuses last year, are optimistic about receiving similar directives from their council chairmen this year.

It will be recalled that Governor Nwifuru recently increased the minimum wage in Ebonyi State to ₦75,000, surpassing the federal benchmark of ₦70,000, with further increments introduced for workers on higher salary grades.

This financial interventions reflect his administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare.
