This directive follows a cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who removed five ministers, reassigned ten others, and appointed seven new ones.

The ministers affected by the sack include Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development), and Dr. Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs, who had previously been suspended).

In response to the restructuring, the SGF confirmed that his office is working with the Head of Civil Service to ensure a smooth transition. He highlighted significant changes, such as the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, and the closure of the Ministry of Sports Development.

Additionally, the Ministry of Niger Delta Development has been renamed, with its updated mandate now in effect.

Akume emphasized the importance of documenting the handover process, with the Permanent Secretaries responsible for submitting all relevant records to his office.
