Thomas Alva Edison, American inventor and businessman who developed many devices in fields such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures, had a very unique stone walkway in his Florida home garden, which he called his “Friendship walk”. Each stone was dedicated by a friend. They were symbolic to Edison. It reminded him that friends were the means of his success.

The successful inventor said he believed that friends, who are exercised in genuine love, will open more doors for us than our education and ability, noting that the intrinsic value of friendship cannot be overemphasized as technological advancement continues to erode human touch in our daily life.
Thus, after the clock struck midnight to usher in the New Year, a group of close friends gathered on January 2, 2025, to celebrate their enduring bond at a cozy get-together in Pentagon I estate, Mowe, Ogun State. The event, filled with laughter, entertainment and convivial banters, was a perfect blend of joy and reflection.
The get-together which was hosted by businessman, Greg Osajie in his country home at Pentagon I estate, Mowe, brought together friends who had been separated by the demands of work, family, and distance. For many, it was the first time seeing each other since the previous year. The atmosphere was infused with warmth as old stories were retold, and new memories were created.

The celebration featured a rich gastronomical option, with each friend choosing what to eat and drink. From the spicy light food to choice beverages and drinks, the tables were loaded. The highlight of the meal was a specially diced peppered homemade protein by Mrs. Osajie, showcasing her culinary skills.
The house was alive with energy and excitement as friends recapitulated their shared camaraderie of milestones, challenges and triumphs over the years, symbolizing hope and unity for this year 2025 and beyond.
According to Augustine Izevbigie, fondly called ‘Epa’, he said. “this get-together means so much to us, as Greg (the host) has challenged us to community and more interactive opportunities”.
For Enahoro Akhile, a notable bridge amongst the group, he said, “in a world that’s always rushing and more selfish, it’s a blessing for Greg to host this get-together to enable pause, let off pressure and reconnect with the people who truly matter.”
