The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Bayelsa State has described Governor Douye Diri as a peace developer, filled with divine grace and cultural intelligence, just as the body congratulates the governor on his landslide victory at the November 11 gubernatorial election.

Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa on Tuesday, Chairman, PFN Committee on Good Governance and Politics and General Superintendent of Kingdom Grace Mission Inc., Apostle, Dr. Timiebi Kiyaramo said Senator Douye Diri possesses the qualities of peace leadership, which include his emotional, social, and communal intelligence, coupled with a high level of spiritual awareness and empathy.

Apostle Kiyaramo noted that the successful peacebuilding activities of Senator Diri in the last four years have undoubtedly created a peaceful environment supportive of self-sustaining durable peace that has brought about true reconciliation with political opponents with a view to promoting peaceful co-existence among Bayelsans, the Ijaw nation and the country.

According to the clergyman, Senator Diri’s body language and peaceful disposition has endeared every well meaning person to his prosperity administration, pointing out that the developmental strides of the governor particularly in road network, people-oriented policies and humility prevented conflicts from restarting. Rather, he has been able to integrate all stakeholders through his rule of law mechanisms to address underlying structural conflicts among other societal issues.

“Peace is the path we should all take to bring about growth and prosperity to society. If we do not have peace and harmony, achieving political strength, economic stability, and cultural growth will be impossible. Moreover, before we transmit the notion of peace to others, it is vital for us to possess peace within. Senator Douye Diri is an epitome of peace, reflecting God’s grace and wisdom in all his actions.

Peace is an essential element towards the realisation of all human rights. Peace is a product of human rights: the more a society promotes, protects, and fulfils the human rights of its people, the greater its chances for curbing violence and resolving conflicts peacefully.

“In our progressively changing environment, it is of crucial importance that we deepen our understanding of peace between people and how leadership can enhance that by ‘leading for peace’. This is the example our Miracle Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has demonstrated in his prosperity administration.” Apostle Kiyaramo reiterated.
