The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has expressed his condolences and paid tribute to the late Mrs. Christie Imiomozo Guobadia. The governor spoke highly of her, acknowledging her as an amazing mother who dedicated her life to selfless service. He shared his personal connection with her, describing her as almost a perfect human being and reminiscing about knowing her since his childhood.
The governor made the remarks during a vigil mass in honour of late Mrs. Guobadia, at her residence along Aguobasimwin Crescent, in Benin City, Edo State capital.
Describing late Mrs. Christie Guobadia as a compassionate mother who will be missed by all who were close to her, Obaseki noted, “She was an amazing woman, and mother. Almost a perfect human being. Growing up, I knew her as an aunty.
“She was a pillar of support to everybody who came to her house. She didn’t discriminate. Her house was open. She was an entrepreneur.”
“She is gifted and very remarkable. She provided everything the children needed to live a good and meaningful life.”
In his sermon, Rev Fr Charles Omogiate said late Madam Christie Guobadia, who lived a fulfilled life, held unto God dearly.
According to him, “Our last days are very significant to those of us who are still living. The way we live our lives matters. We are here to celebrate a woman who touched lives. A life of faithful service will always be rewarded.
