There is unconfirmed report suggesting that Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, has appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), after months of evading arrest.
A credible source told DDNEWS that, the EFCC has taken Yahaya Bello into custody, after a midnight sting operation in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State.

Popularly called ‘the lion’ by political followers, Bello has evaded arrest since leaving office at the EFCC announced charges against him relating to alleged money laundering involving ₦80.2 billion, alongside other individuals.
If the report is true, then the anti-graft agency can exhale some relief as the real legal contestation begins.
