The House of Representatives has during plenary on Wednesday passed a resolution to investigate the circumstances that led to the killing of Barrister Bolanle Raheem by a police officer in Lagos.
The lawyer was allegedly shot dead by a trigger-happy police officer in the Ajah area of Lagos State on Christmas Day.
Well-meaning Nigerians have decried the unfortunate incident, lamenting the incessant killing and unprofessionalism of some police officers in the country.
At Wednesday’s plenary, the House of Representatives passed a resolution to ensure that the trigger-happy officer is prosecuted with a view to getting justice and deter officers on duty from taking drugs or alcohol.
Reps also observed a minute’s silence for the slain lawyer.
The resolution of the Reps was sequel to a motion moved at plenary by a member representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Hon. Ibrahim B. Obanikoro.
