Across sectors, from banking to agriculture, to traditional and online commerce AI is reshaping how businesses operate, how employees work, and even how job seekers position themselves in the labour market.

No matter the widespread embrace, a major concern still persists, which is: Will AI and automation lead to job losses in Nigeria?

However, analysts of the emerging trend argue that while some repetitive jobs may become obsolete, AI will also create new job opportunities, as there will be increased demand for AI specialists, data scientists, and software developers. In a direct way, traditional jobs will evolve, requiring workers to acquire digital skills while businesses will become more efficient, leading to economic growth and job creation in other areas.

Without prejudice to the points being canvassed on both sides, Nigerians need to prepare for the AI Revolution by embracing Digital Skills which encompasses learning programming, data analysis, and AI-related skills will give job seekers an edge.

As more people adapt and Upskill, they will be able to focus on roles that require creativity, problem-solving, and human interaction, which AI cannot easily replace.

Importantly, with an entrepreneurial mindset, AI tools can help business owners automate tasks, analyze data, improve customer engagement and bolster the bottom-line.
