THE Lagos State Government has debunked the viral news that it has not re-introduced the monthly environmental sanitation and will be restricting movement between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am with alleged commencement by July.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement, yesterday, described the news as the concoction of mischief makers bent on agitating the minds of the good people of Lagos, needlessly.

Wahab said: “The Governor also stated that state government officials will lead from the front every week by going around to join residents in voluntarily cleaning their environment while preaching the message.

“At no time did Mr Governor make a pronouncement that the monthly exercise and restriction will start in July or any other month for now.”

He highlighted that the Sanwo-olu led government of Lagos State has no plan to restrict movements on the last Saturday of July as trending erroneously but urged residents to always clean their environment and maintain excellent sanitation regime.
