Monsignor Thomas Oleghe, Nigeria’s oldest Catholic priest, passed away at the age of 104 on November 24, 2024. The Diocese of Auchi in Edo State, under the leadership of Bishop Gabriel G. Dunia, confirmed his peaceful passing at 2:30 am.

In a statement by Victor Oshioke, Spokesperson to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, he mourned the passage of the revered Priest, praising his missionary commitment to guiding believers and promoting societal betterment through moral teachings.
Furthermore, Oshiomhole noted that ‘Oleghe’s impactful life resonated with God, who blessed him with longevity before calling him to eternal rest’, he said.
