The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has issued a formal directive mandating all party executives currently holding government appointments to immediately resign their executive positions within the party structure.

The directive, contained in an official statement signed by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and made public on Thursday, February 19, 2026, is in full compliance with Article 31(5)(b) of the APC Constitution (as amended in 2022), which prohibits serving public office holders from simultaneously holding party executive offices at any level.

“In line with the clear provisions of our party’s Constitution and the need to maintain discipline, internal democracy and separation of roles, all APC members in Ogun State who are currently serving in government positions (including commissioners, special advisers, special assistants, board chairmen, members of boards and agencies, and other political appointees) are hereby directed to resign their positions as party executives forthwith.

This is not a personal matter but a constitutional imperative. Failure to comply within seven (7) days from the date of this notice will attract automatic disqualification from party executive positions and possible disciplinary action.”

The statement emphasised that the directive is not targeted at any individual but is a uniform application of party rules to ensure no conflict of interest exists between government roles and party administration.
