One person has been confirmed dead while two others were rescued after a building collapsed in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred at an abandoned two-storey building around Haruna Bus Stop.
The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Joseph Ilesanmi.
Emergency responders were deployed to the scene shortly after the collapse as rescue efforts continued to search for any other possible victims.
The development has once again raised serious concerns over the safety of abandoned and distressed buildings across Lagos, particularly structures that pose risks to residents and passersby.

Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement on the exact cause of the collapse. However, residents in the area have repeatedly complained about the dangerous state of several uncompleted and abandoned buildings in the community.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other relevant agencies are expected to provide further updates as investigations continue.
