The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has concluded plans to personally commission a newly constructed mosque which he single-handedly funded and built for Muslim faithful in Lagos.

The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the mosque site in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Primate Ayodele, known for his interfaith peace initiatives and frequent donations across religious lines, described the project as “a practical demonstration of love, unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians of different faiths.”

In a statement released by his media office on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the cleric said: “I built this mosque not for show or politics, but because I believe God wants us to love our neighbours regardless of religion. Muslims are my brothers and sisters. If I can build a church for Christians, I can also build a mosque for Muslims. This is what true religion demands -love in action.”

The mosque, which reportedly cost tens of millions of naira, features modern architecture, ablution facilities, a prayer hall, and space for Islamic education programmes. It is expected to serve hundreds of Muslim residents in the community who previously had limited access to a proper place of worship.

The event is expected to attract Muslim leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, interfaith groups, and members of the public. Several prominent Islamic scholars and imams have already confirmed attendance.

Primate Ayodele’s gesture continues his long record of interfaith bridge-building, including previous donations of food items, cash, medical supplies, and infrastructure to mosques, churches, and traditional shrines across the country.
