The REC urged broadcasters to provide accurate information on electoral guidelines, timelines, and voter registration procedures, including PVC collection. He also called for equitable access to media platforms for all political parties and cautioned against misinformation, disinformation, and unverified content.
Describing this phase as highly sensitive, Dr. Agboke advised media practitioners to prioritise accuracy over speed, avoid announcing unofficial results or projections, and refrain from content that could incite tension. He also encouraged support for voter awareness on accreditation and voting procedures.
