The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the postponement of the collation processes of the 2023 presidential election results till Monday, February 27, 2023.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said the decision to postpone the collation arrived after results from several States had not arrived at the national collation centre in Abuja.

Prof. Yakubu assured that the collation of results would resume on Monday by 11 am on Monday when many more returning officers would hopefully have made it to Abuja.

However, poll watchers are mindful of the coincidence of the postponement announcement as the development was after the result of the polls in Ekiti State was announced by the returning officer for the State.

Details of the results announced for Ekiti State showed that the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu polled 201,486 votes to beat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who polled 89,554 and 11,397 votes respectively.
