Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the attack involved a “powerful weapon” that evaded air defences and hit a “fortified tactical operations centre.” Three U.S. military officials told CBS News (BBC’s U.S. partner) that the victims were working in a makeshift trailer office shielded by 12ft (3.7m) steel-reinforced concrete barriers, raising questions about the adequacy of fortifications.

The Six deceased, all U.S. Army Reserve soldiers, were named on Tuesday:
Capt Cody Khork, 35, Florida resident; previously deployed to Saudi Arabia, Guantanamo Bay, and Poland.
Sgt 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42, Nebraska resident; twice deployed to Kuwait.
Sgt 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39, Minnesota resident; previously deployed to Kuwait and Iraq.
Sgt Declan Coady, 20, Iowa resident; enlisted in the Army Reserve three years ago and was posthumously promoted from Specialist.
