The Dane, who signed a contract extension until 2028 in the summer of 2025, leaves the club after failing to improve Spurs’ inconsistent Premier League form despite delivering strong performances in European competition (Europa League quarter-finalists this season).

In a brief statement released by Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the club said: “Tottenham Hotspur can confirm that Thomas Frank has been relieved of his duties as Head Coach. The club would like to thank Thomas for his dedication and professionalism during his time with us. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Frank joined Tottenham in the summer of 2024 from Brentford in a high-profile move. While he led the team to respectable progress in cup competitions and European nights, the club’s league inconsistency and failure to mount a genuine title or top-four challenge led to growing pressure from chairman Daniel Levy and the board.

Interim Arrangement Assistant coach Matt Wells will take charge of first-team duties on an interim basis while the club begins the search for a permanent replacement. Names already being linked include former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino (currently without a club), Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth), Marco Silva (Fulham), and Ruben Amorim (if Sporting CP allow his release).

The sacking comes at a critical juncture in the season, with Tottenham still in contention for European silverware but facing a tough fight to secure a top-six finish in the Premier League.
