Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is set to unveil a 52-member campaign council as part of preparations for his re-election bid ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election. According to a statement shared via the state government’s official X account on Tuesday, the campaign structure tagged Imole Campaign Council 2026 will serve as the central coordinating body for the governor’s political strategy, mobilisation, and electioneering activities across the state.
The council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, marking the formal commencement of high-level campaign activities. A senior campaign official described the council as critical to the governor’s second-term ambition.
“This is a carefully designed structure to ensure effective coordination, strong grassroots mobilisation, and a unified campaign direction across all levels,” the official said.

At the helm of the council is Wale Ladipo, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Osun State University, who will serve as Chairman. The Senate Minority Leader, Kamorudeen Oyewumi, has been appointed Director General, while the Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General. Other key appointments include Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Bola Ajao as Secretary. Additional roles feature Rep. Bamidele Salam, who will head the Media and Publicity Committee, while former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, will oversee Inter-Party Relations.
Beyond the central council, the campaign structure extends across multiple layers of political engagement. Federal constituency campaign committees will be established across all nine constituencies in the state, bringing together lawmakers, party executives, and other stakeholders. At the grassroots level, local government campaign committees will operate across all 30 local government areas and the area office, while ward-level committees will be set up in all 332 wards to deepen voter mobilisation.

A campaign aide said the structure reflects a deliberate blend of political experience and professional expertise aimed at driving an effective and coordinated campaign.
“We are combining experience, political strength, and professional expertise to ensure a broad-based and inclusive campaign,” the aide noted.
Political analysts say the early unveiling of the campaign council signals a well-organised approach by the incumbent governor to consolidate support ahead of the election. With the August 2026 poll approaching, the development is expected to intensify political activities across Osun State, as parties begin to mobilise supporters and strengthen their campaign structures.
