The All Progressives Congress (APC) has replaced several senatorial and House of Representatives candidates in nine states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The changes, which affect Kogi, Abia, Benue, Taraba, Ondo, Niger, Kwara, Kaduna, and Ebonyi states, were communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in a letter signed by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru.

The party said the substitutions followed recommendations from its primary election appeal committee.
Among the affected candidates is former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, who won the APC ticket for Benue North-East but has now been replaced by Emmanuel Udende.
Other Senatorial Substitutions:
Kogi West: Sunday Karimi replaced Aro Samuel Bamidele.
Abia South: Prince Paul Ikonne replaced Edinburgh Uchenna Erondu.
Benue North-West: Titus Zam replaced Benjamin T. Aber.
Taraba North: Shuaibu Isa Lau replaced Mohammed Kabir Bello.
Ondo Central: Adeniyi Adegbonmire replaced Taiwo Fasoranti.
Ondo North: Olajide Ipinsagba replaced Gbenga Elegbeleye.

The revised list also restored the tickets of six serving senators.
House of Representatives Changes
The APC also replaced 19 House of Representatives candidates across the affected states. Key replacements include:
Benue State:
Makurdi/Guma: Dickson Tarkighir replaced Ikper Chris Terfa.
Vandeikya/Konshisha: Sesoo Ikpagher replaced Livinus Tsar Adzor.

Ondo State:
Ilaje/Ese-Odo: Donald Ojogo replaced Akingboye Leke.
Multiple other constituencies saw changes.
Similar substitutions were made in Taraba, Niger, Kwara, Kaduna, Abia, and Ebonyi states.
The APC concluded its senatorial and House of Representatives primaries in May 2026, producing several high-profile candidates, including serving governors and senators.
The latest changes reflect ongoing internal adjustments within the party following appeals and complaints from aggrieved aspirants.

INEC is expected to update its records accordingly as the 2027 election preparations intensify.
