The Bamboo investment app is experiencing login difficulties as a surge of investors attempt to access the platform following the opening of the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE public offer on Monday.
The disruption comes as retail investors rush to subscribe for shares in the landmark offer, which is being made available through digital investment platforms including Bamboo. The high demand has reportedly resulted in access problems for some users trying to log into their accounts.

The Dangote Refinery public offer opened on September 14 and will close on October 13, 2026. The company is offering 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares costing ₦5,250. If fully subscribed, the offer is expected to raise about ₦2.15 trillion.
The public offer is attracting strong interest because it represents Africa’s largest initial public offering and gives retail investors an opportunity to own a stake in the Dangote Refinery. The facility, located near Lagos, currently has a refining capacity of about 700,000 barrels per day, with plans to expand to 1.4 million barrels per day.

Bamboo had earlier published instructions for investors on how to subscribe for the Dangote Refinery shares through its platform, helping to drive attention among Nigerians seeking to participate in the offer.
The login difficulties reported on Monday highlight the heavy demand for digital access to the public offer as investors seek to submit their applications. Bamboo has not, in the sources reviewed, provided a detailed public explanation of the cause or a specific timeline for the resolution of the access problem.
Market watchers say the rush reflects growing retail interest in Nigeria’s capital market and the appeal of owning shares in one of Africa’s biggest industrial projects.
