Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of French defender Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool on a four-year contract.

The Spanish giants announced on Thursday that Konaté has agreed to join the club until June 30, 2030.
“Los Blancos and centre-back Konaté reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030,” the club stated.

The 27-year-old centre-back joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 and made 183 appearances for the Reds. During his time at Anfield, he won the Premier League title in 2025 and the FA Cup in 2022, among other honours.

Konaté, who is currently representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, strengthens a Real Madrid squad undergoing significant rebuilding. The club recently appointed Jose Mourinho as head coach and have also signed Spain left-back Marc Cucurella and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva this summer.
