CAN Set To Confer Award of Excellence on Lawmaker, Offers Free Eye Tests With Glasses On Residents of Brass Island

Brass Local Government Area chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has concluded plans to confer an award of excellence on the member representing Brass Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Daniel Charles for true representation and exceptional achievements in his first tenure in office.

Chairman, Brass local government chapter of CAN, Archbishop Dr. Isaac John Kiyaramo gave the hint while briefing newsmen on activities lined up for a 3-Day Prayer Crusade, billed to commence on December 18 to 20, at St. Barnabas school field Twon-Brass tagged Maranatha Brass 2023 with the theme, “Avoid Idol Worship Through the Holy Ghost” which is being facilitated by Hon. Daniel Charles informed that the programme would feature free medical outreach where free eye tests will be conducted with glasses and lenses given to individuals after going through the eye tests.

Archbishop Kiyaramo who condemned idol worship stated that the practice of idolatry consists in divinizing what is not God, reiterating that man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether be it gods or demons, such as the worship of satanism, power, pleasure, race, ancestors, a state or money.

“Idol worship is disobedience to GOD, according to Genesis 3:2-7. Idols are the things we call deity in our cities, communities, and villages, being worshipped by some of us. When I say powers, I am talking about demonic powers. Some of our people use it as protection from danger. Idol worship could be even excessive admiration of somebody or something. It is called idol worship, and the people who worship idols are called idolaters.

“Worship is a declaration that God is in the midst of all that is happening in our world today. Worship is a powerful weapon. Worshipping together teaches us to submit and surrender all our cares to God, including our priorities, plans, hopes, dreams, and even our fears,” Archbishop Kiyaramo stated

He called on all the blocks that make up CAN in area and the general public to endeavour to attend the end of year inter-denominational crusade, being organised by the Christian body, informing that the programme will feature powerful ministrations from anointed men of God that bring salvation, healing, deliverance from satanic influences with music ministrations, prayers, praises, thanksgiving, saying that God doesn’t just listen to us, but he speaks to believers through His Word through the preaching of the undiluted gospel of Jesus Christ.

He said South South Director of Agriculture & Empowerment of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and General superintendent of Kingdom Grace Mission, Yenagoa, Apostle Dr. Timiebi Kiyaramo, among other men of God, including Pastor Ofon Ude Odiono, Pastor Stevens David, Prophet Tonye Emmanuel, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ozom, Apostle Baro Ebinimie, Pastor Joshua Dunayam, and Pastor Yen Inemo Ben
will be ministering at the prayer crusade.
