Barely one month to the 2023 General elections, popular Abuja female cleric and National Coordinator of an exclusive women’s Christain Ministry, known as Excellent Women International Ministry (EWIM), Dr. (Mrs.) Christabel Regan Julie Okoye has called for participation in politics.
She urged Nigerian men to not only allow their wives to participate in politics but to encourage them, stressing that she has for a long time noted that women have potential in the areas of prudent management of resources.
Mrs. Okoye who is also the Executive Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Drug Monitoring (NANDROM), an NGO, made this assertion at a prayer and session organized for members and non-members of her Ministry in Abuja.
Speaking further at the event, she criticized men who are in the habit of hindering their wives from participating in politics out of envy.
She urged women to come out and show interest in politics to give selfless service to the people, adding that they should use their God-given talent of effective and prudent management of resources to revive the country’s dwindling economic fortunes.
Mrs. Okoye informed me that she has been encouraging and motivating women who are already in politics.
According to her, she recently organized a motivational program for women legislators from the Nigerian Upper and Lower Chambers of the legislatures, even as she added that at a time, she contested to represent her constituency at the House of Representatives, without success.
“Through my NGO, Christabel International, I work with the Drugs and Narcotic Committee of the National Assembly and edit Christabel Magazine, as well as do the work of God through Excellent Women International Ministry. I am a mother and an ambassador for Nigerian women. When you are determined to do something, you fight for it. So, I am happy doing all these selfless services for my people.
Explaining that her Ministry was solely for women, Mrs. Okoye disclosed that she usually invites couples, when they organize dinner for them. She further informed that God has used her to heal many people of their afflictions and gave children to the childless, through prayer.
She advised Nigerian women to show more interest in politics. According to her: “For you to do anything, you must be serious. First of all, they must be determined from the inside. There must be an agreement between the inside and the outside. There is no success without work. You must be determined.”
To the men, she said: “Men should please allow their wives. Some men cage their wives, because of envy.
