The Edo State newly minted Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, marked a significant milestone in his administration by attending his first National Economic Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday in State House, Abuja. The meeting which took place in the Council Chambers was chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Being an important meeting, usually convened to discussed critical national economic issues, Governor Okpebholo was honored with the responsibility of delivering the opening prayer following the recitation of the national anthem, symbolizing his entry into the national leadership forum.
The NEC meeting is a significant executive convocation that brings together State Governors, Deputy Governors representing their principals, and members of President Bola Tinubu’s economic team, aimed at reviewing government policies to relative to Nigeria’s economic challenges.
